My tattoo practice came after training as a graphic designer in La Chaux-de-Fonds, where I learnt how to build a composition and work through every element precisely. When I moved into tattooing, this way of looking at lines and spaces remained.
Placement, size, and the way the piece moves with your anatomy are part of what gives your project its power.
A poster remains flat. The body brings curves, asymmetry and constant movement. My work takes the tools of graphic design and adapts them to this living material: a line changes direction, a black shape finds its balance and open space lets the whole piece breathe. Your tattoo is read from several angles.
I began tattooing during traditional studio training, including six months spent practising on friends and acquaintances. As the projects developed, my taste for stricter work met painted gestures and long black lines. The graphic and abstract style became the heart of what I want to show. This style is rarely offered, which also explains why some people travel from far away.
The images show the move from idea to body: strict shapes, freer gestures and spaces that change with the placement. Look closely at the details, then at the whole piece. Both readings matter.
The drive to Villeneuve currently takes around one and a half hours. By train, allow a little over two hours with connections. The journey calls for organisation, so we combine what we can: the first conversation may begin by video call, sessions are planned together and you can view the design at the studio a few days beforehand if you want to see it before the tattoo day. We still need to meet in person before I tattoo you.
No. My connection with the city comes from my graphic design education at the École d'art appliqué. I now tattoo at Amartato Studio, Grand-Rue 10 in Villeneuve, canton of Vaud.
It developed my taste for strict compositions, balanced forms and precision. On skin, I adapt those foundations to the volume and movement of the body.

Yes. If you're coming from far away, our first conversation can happen over a video call, and we'll meet at the studio before the tattoo.
Depending on its size, your project will take one or two sessions, or several dates for a large piece like a full sleeve or a full leg. I'll give you an estimate at the studio appointment, and we'll schedule the dates with your journey from La Chaux-de-Fonds in mind. Payment is in cash, at the end of each session: there's no card reader at the studio. The deposit is deducted from the final price, on the last session.
